Godaddy earns its main revenue from domain name registration and domain name renewal, Other source of revenue from this category are domain backorder, domain privacy, revenue from advertisement from parked domains and fee surcharge to ICANN.

Godaddy earns significant amount of money from domain name registrations . If you want to buy a .com domain then you got to pay $8.99/year for a 2 year term but if you want to buy a .org, .net will be of same cost as .com but .today will be charged at $24.99/year.

Godaddy earned a wooping $564 million just from domain name category.

Hosting And Presence 

This is the second highest revenue earning category for Godaddy.  This includes SSL certificates, website building products, site lock website security, SEO, private ip's and many more.

Godaddy provides dedicated servers and VPS at a very cheap rate starting just at few dollars per month for one domain.  They also provide site builders for beginners who are new to online business.

Godaddy earned around $370 million from hosting and presence in the first 9 month of the year 2014.

Business Application


This is the third highest revenue earning category for Godaddy. This includes online data storage, online bookkeeping, email accounts, online payment gateways and email marketing.
