We all spent a lot of time on social media, weather it is a child of 13 years or a retired person of 65 years, social media has become a important part in everyone's life. In recent times there are around 24 most popular social media websites in the world.

This was just an average, if we try to find out individual age group for individual sites then there is a considerable difference.

You can see that only 2% of the users are above the age of 65.

On the other hand you can also see that many websites have younger users.

According to the survey the average age per user registered on social media website is under 37 years.

• The oldest users :- With 44.2 years average age of user  are on linkedin.
• The average Facebook user is 40.5 years old.

What about gender?

Well we covered the age group of users on social media websites but what about male-female ratio ?

According to the survey there is imbalance in the male-female ratio, some country are male dominant while some are female. But if you combine all the data then it will be very clear that women rule social media.

Out of total 24 websites we have covered 17 websites have more female users than male.

Average gender distribution is female 51.25% and male 48.75%.
