Facebook has clocked highest revenue generated from mobile ad's since the company started. Facebook generated over $3.54 billion in Q1 2015 which is lower but pretty close to what was predicted by the Wall Street.



Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said that the constant fluctuation in exchange rate is the reason for lesser revenue. Facebook had a 46% of overall increase in revenue generated and if exchange rates had remain constant then it would have reached 55% of increase in revenue. Sandberg also said that “Video is exploding on mobile” because there were 4 billion daily video views on Facebook.


Videos were viewed more than 4 billion times on Facebook

Everyone knows that Facebook generates all it's revenue from advertisment and Facebook generated around 73% off its revenue from mobile this quarter.

According to Sandberg Facebook needs to concentrate more on Targeted Ad's to generate more revenue.

Facebook reportedly had 1.25 billion monthly active users out of 1.44 billion from mobile phones that is 24% in increase .

Facebook's net income on 1.19 billion increased 28% then the Q1 2014, it's expenditure cost were 83% higher that any year, it was $2.61 billion.

Sheryl Sandberg also spoke about the idea of monetizing WhatsApp which has not come into any scene till now.

Sandberg said :- We’re thrilled with their growth [but] we are not currently working on monetization for WhatsApp. We’re continuing to work on growth.

WhatsApp recently announced that it has around 800 million active users so Facebook is not worried about WhatsApp and is leaving it aside for the time being.

Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of Facebook said that they are looking to expand before they think about monerization of WhatsApp and VR Technologies. Facebook's biggest expense is from research and development team and they will continue to invest more on this.
